ALL ABOARD!!!!

The Alex Bowman train is leaving the station at approximately 3:45 pm ET.

As unofficial leader of the Alex Bowman Betting Club (ABBC for short), I’m obligated to let you know that I am living or dying with the #48 Chevrolet today at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, both with my DFS rosters (DraftKings and FanDuel) as well as my bets.

Why? Because I think Hendrick Motorsports as a whole is going to dominate this race. Over the last four Las Vegas races, Chase Elliott, Alex Bowman, and William Byron all rank in the top 6 when it comes to Average Running Position here. Alex Bowman ranks 5th-best in average finish over those four races. On “low-wear” tracks last season, Bowman was 3rd-best in the series. He led the 2nd-most laps on this track type last year, too. Hendrick is coming off of a win already with William Byron at Homestead last week, and should have won at the Daytona Road Course with Chase Elliott, too.

Now it’s Alex Bowman’s turn.

The 2020 season was Hendrick’s resurgence. The 2021 season could easily be their dominance again. With Kyle Larson added into the mix, as well as some of the fastest cars in the field yet again, the Hendrick fleet will be a force to be reckoned with week in and week out in the Cup Series this year.

In addition to my Best Bets (click here to read), my betting card looks like this for today:

Alex Bowman to Win (+2500) – I tried my hardest to lay off of this, and it was a little easier to do so at +2000 (where most books have Bowman). But BetMGM has him available at 25-to-1 and I can’t lay off of that. You saw above why I like Bowman and Hendrick as a whole so much today. I love these odds on the #48 Chevrolet for the Pennzoil 400.

Chase Elliott to Win (+1100) – Couldn’t pass up these odds either. Credit to PJ Walsh over at Action Network for pointing out BetMGM’s offering of Chase at 11-to-1 odds earlier this week. Once I saw the tweet, I immediately got in my car and headed to Indiana to place this bet (I’m in Ohio and sports betting isn’t legal here). Chase arguably had the best car in both Las Vegas races last season but couldn’t close the deal. He led 70 laps in the first race here in 2020 but had a tire issue late and finished 26th. Then in the fall race has won both Stages, led 73 laps, but finished 22nd thanks to an ill-timed caution. Chase is a legitimate threat to win this race today. I’ll bet him at 11-to-1 any day of the week.

My entire betting card for the Pennzoil 400:

  • Alex Bowman to Win (+2500)
  • Alex Bowman Top 3 Finish (+550)
  • Alex Bowman Top 5 Finish (+275)
  • Alex Bowman Top 10 Finish (-125)
  • Alex Bowman Stage 1 Win (+2000)
  • Alex Bowman Stage 2 Win (+2000)
  • Alex Bowman (+130) over Kyle Busch
  • Alex Bowman (-110) over William Byron
  • Chase Elliott to Win (+1100)
  • Chase Elliott Top 3 Finish (+275)
  • Chase Elliott Top 5 Finish (+140)
  • Chase Elliott Stage 1 Win (+1300)
  • Chase Elliott Stage 2 Win (+900)
  • Chase Elliott (+105) over Denny Hamlin
  • Cole Custer (-105) over Bubba Wallace
  • Kyle Larson Top 5 Finish (+165)
