We get some road course action on Tuesday night as the Busch Clash will be held at the Daytona Road Course. We’re looking at a 35-lap shootout, and Ryan Blaney will be leading them to the green, as he was lucky enough to pull the pole position during the random qualifying draw on Monday night. FanDuel DFS Picks for the Busch Clash
Martin Truex, Jr. ($12,500) – Right now, it’s Chase Elliott and Martin Truex, Jr. at the top of all drivers when it comes to road course races. They are pretty much in a league of their own, combining to win eight of the last nine on this track type (Elliott has 5 wins over that span, Truex has 3). For Tuesday night’s Busch Clash, both are great options on FanDuel, but Truex is projecting a bit higher due to the fact that he starts back in 18th. Place differential points are only 0.1 per position on FanDuel, but those add up when you’re talking 15+. Truex is the safer option for this race, but like I said, both are great picks–and I also don’t hate throwing them both into one lineup.
Kyle Busch ($10,500) – Kyle Busch’s recent stats on road course tracks are atrocious to say the least (one top 10, three finishes of 30th or worse in the last five races), but this is still Kyle F’n Busch we’re talking about. When we raced here at the Daytona Road Course last season, the #18 Toyota was actually one of the strongest in the field, but Busch ran into multiple problems throughout the day before having brake issues late and then destroying his car in a wreck. If he doesn’t have any problems on Tuesday night, I think Rowdy has top 5 potential in the Busch Clash.
William Byron ($9,500) – A lot of people are talking about William Byron for this race, so it’ll be interesting to see what his ownership percentage ends up at on Tuesday night. But as far as they they’re talking about him, it’s quite simple: he’s right there among the top 5 racers when it comes to road course tracks. Over the last five events at this track type, Byron has finished between 6th and 8th three times and also has the 3rd-best driver rating among the 21 drivers in the field for the Busch Clash. His Green Flag Speed is 4th-best, while he ranks 3rd-best in average running position. Byron starts 5th on Tuesday night but could pay off in a big way on FanDuel if he can capture a top 3 finish with his $9,500 price tag. Even with an average estimated finish of 5.5, my projections have Byron as the 5th-best option on this FanDuel slate.
