The NASCAR Cup Series is off to Sin City this weekend for the Pennzoil 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Now, Las Vegas is one of the “cookie cutter” 1.5-mile tracks on the schedule, and often times last year we saw how track position was super important at those venues, but that hasn’t been the case at Vegas. Looking at the last four races at this track, only one pole sitter has led multiple laps, and that was Kevin Harvick in this race last year. Yes, you read that right: three of the last four Las Vegas pole sitters have led one or zero laps the entire race.
Please note: qualifying was rained out on Saturday, and the starting lineup was set by the rule book (last year’s Owner Points). Any driver that has to start from the rear WILL STILL BE SCORED FROM HIS ORIGINAL STARTING SPOT listed below. That includes Kyle Busch, who said on Saturday he will have to go to the rear on Sunday.
